A Captured Moment From This Past Week…

L to R: Dot Clyde, Jack Turner, Kaitlyn Miller and Keagen Petty
2024-25 Sherwood Middle School Builders Club Officers

It was inspiring to see these four students present to the Sherwood School District Board of Education last Monday night. They shared details about Builders Club from the international to the local level. They also showcased this past year and all the projects that they have been doing to better the lives of others… from their first project to raise funds for Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF to their last project to do Random Acts of Kindness around school.

Do You Know How Many Countries Offer Builders Club to Their Students? (answer will be at the end.)

  • Just to give you a heads-up… the Kiwanis of Tigard See’s Candies Mother’s Day
fundraiser will begin TODAY. The link will shortly be on our website. But you
can also reach it by clicking HERE. Remember that this is an opportunity to
purchase candy for your loved ones for this special occasion, and at the same
time, help our Kiwanis Club with a fundraiser. The items you order will be
delivered directly to your doorstep… another plus! This fundraiser closes on
May 2nd, allowing for plenty of time for delivery before Mother’s Day.
  • It looks like we have thirteen members planning to go to McMenamins on

who live with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Deibert’s home at 7:00 p.m. We’ll be discussing several important issues, so

in the driveway of the Anderson’s home. The actual booth will be set up on
Sunday, May 4th starting at 8:30 a.m. and closing at 1:00 p.m. All members are

  • A special opportunity to work with other Kiwanians and Key Clubbers from

and an 11:30 to 1:00 shift. The location is at the Zion Lutheran Church in
Hillsboro. Don’t forget that they are asking for a $15 donation from Kiwanis
attendees to help allay the cost of supplies. If you wish to sign up, click
HERE. Or you can just show up… walk-ins are welcome!
  • The Key Club is holding their annual Dodgeball Tournament on Saturday, April
26th from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. Sherwood High School is at 18800 SW Haide Rd.,

  • On Sunday, April 27th at 5:00 p.m., the Key Clubbers who attended their
District Convention are presenting to the Kiwanis Club.
    The location is the
Tigard United Methodist Church at 9845 SW Walnut Pl, Tigard. Refreshments
    will be served.
  • Here is another section of the recent slide presentation made by our
Membership Committee… These are ideas for doing a better job of marketing
our club in the community. Which ones do you think we should make stronger
    efforts to do?
